After a rather lengthy discussion with one of my Republican friends, I think I have finally figured out the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Republicans see things as they SHOULD be.
Democrats see thing as they ARE.

Republicans think IDEALISTICally.
Democrats think REALISTICally.

Republicans say "You shouldn't have sex if you're not prepared to get pregnant".

Democrats say "People are going to have sex no matter what, so let's accept the fact and deal with it."

The can of worms is now opened.

The best definition of the difference I ever heard was:

A republican is a democrat who has been mugged.

As to the other definitions, I think you got your first two definitions reversed and the last definition for a democrat should be:

People are going to have sex no matter what, so let the tax payers pay for the consequences if the parents can't (or won't).
