What a shame! He had a heart attack & died en route to the hospital.
I remember when "All in the Family" debuted. What a fuss there was! One of my favorite shows. In the past couple of years several of my favorite actors have passed away. Sad.

It is sad, Bunnicula. This business of growing older is not for sissies is it?
It is getting to the point where when I see an older movie I have to ask is so & so still with us. It is getting harder to keep track.
Meathead, Stifle, Edith ...quite a show and Carroll was an excellent actor beyond that show.

Excellent actor. How sad. And as we all get older, those we grew up watching are all dead or dying, being replaced by new faces who don't have half the talent.
He will be missed.

Yes, that's too bad about both Carroll O'Connor and John Lee Hooker.

Oh the way Glenn Miller played...
Songs that made the hit parade...
Guys like us we had it made...
Those were the days.
And you knew where you were then...
Girls were girls and men were men...
Mr., we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
Didn't need no welfare state...
Everybody pulled his weight...
Gee our old LaSalle ran great...
Those were the dayyyyyyyyssssssss.

I used to love the show because Archie was so like my father..... Now they are both gone.
Getting older really bites.
I admired the way he went after the guy that sold his son drugs. Took guts.

"All in the Family" will always hold a special place in my heart...
Not only did my Dad bear a resemblence to C O'C, but he also LOVED that show~!! It became a way for me to accept his death when I was 13 because of the circunstance.....
I remember how much Dad loved the show, and we used to watch it together on a wekly basis...
After we buried Dad when I was 13, I can still remember laying on the floor watching "All in the Family" and laughing, then looking over my shopulder to look at Dad, and he wasn't there....that was my FIRST realization that he was gone...we ALWAYS giggled at the show.......
RIP Carrol!!!!

I liked Heat of the Night when he starred with Hugh. There was a natural chemistry between them (and the other actors) that made the characters real to me.
