I'm pretty sure it's just me because i haven't seen any other complaints about this, but I can't access paypal.com. I've tried two different browsers (IE5 and Opera5) and two different ISP's and I've tried clearing all of my cookies, but nothing seems to help. All i get is a 'page cannot be found error.' HELP!! I'm running a PII 233 with a modemblaster 56k modem. What could possibly be wrong. I can get to x.com, except none of the links work. I was just at paypal a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, after dialing up to about seven different locations in the greater seattle area, I found that i can't visit sites such as paypal.com, glideunderground.com, microsoft.com (pretty weird considering I live 20 minutes from their headquarters). I guess it must be a routing thing, but is there anything I can do about it?

I've had problems lately with a slow router in the Sacramento area making some sites inacessable...
What I did was try some alternate dial-up numbers and a different ISDN number ....sometimes it worked, sometimes not...
Also, I've tried connecting, forcing a disconnect and then reconnecting immediately...this strategy has worked the majority of the time...
I don't know why this works but it does...
It is possible that I'm having an intermittent network problem as I have a wireless LAN with a common gateway to the internet...

well, here's something new. I still can't get to paypal.com, but i can get to 216.136.154.74, their ip address. AGHHHH. I am guessing that this means that there is something wrong with a DNS somewhere, but I don't know what to do about it.

HA! I got it. My TCP/IP connection was still hooked up to an ad blocking filter host list that was included in smartelec voyager 6000 (a web browser that really stinks). I just disabled that and now i can go anywhere i want to.
