There have always been warnings and complaint about PayPal, but I keep saying to myself that if I follow PayPal’s rules and guidelines, I will not have a problem. I must have been dreaming.

In July I sold a Dell Laptop on eBay. On July 30 the FedEx tracking number was sent to the buyer. On July 31 I got an email from PayPal that the buyer has filed a fraud complaint for non-receipt of goods and the money was debited from my account. I click on the link that took me to the PayPal’s dispute website where I entered the name of the shipper and the tracking number. Within a few days the package was delivered to the buyer.

For weeks I keep checking my PayPal account for the reimbursement of the money to my account, but nothing. Inquiries on the dispute website keep state “No more information is needed, the case is still pending”.

On August 30 I check my account and notice that the case is closed and payment was reversed and given to the buyer. I clicked on the dispute icon and re-submitted the tracking number and the shipper. Within a few hours I got a response from a PayPal flunkie stating that “The tracking number shows that the package was delivered, but since the case is closed, there is nothing we can do but send an email to the buyer to either return the laptop or send the payment again.”

PayPal does not check tracking numbers and verify the delivery of the packages, they are waiting on the buyer to go back on the dispute page and confirm the delivery of the package. If the buyer does not confirm delivery, PayPal does nothing but give your money back to them.

The buyer got the tracking number and then file a fraud complaint the following day is a clear indication of intent to commit fraud with PayPal as an accomplice.

Hi kennycam,

I have no unanswered emails from the second, so I do need to ask you to send the information again. I went back through my inbox.

Let see...

PayPal has already admitted they were wrong....

What are the bets on the number of months before kennycam gets his money back......
.
A Man will spend $2.00 for a $1.00 item he needs.
A Woman will spend $1.00 for a $2.00 item she doesn't need.

But you never explain why someone such as Kennycam had to come here to get the adjustment.

Hi Flaoisland,

I have no idea why the user came to the forums. They posted an issue that needed to be looked at and I responded.

....If they are posted on a public forum. Where then Paypal's Damon can pretend he did not read the lengthy message explaining why the user chose to post here.

if you think paypal is bad, think HOME DEPOT EXPO-it has been 2 months now and after a dozen phone calls, they still have not credited my paypal account for 100 dollars they overcharged me.
think paymentech, they keep coming into my bank account to debit 37.95 every month after i closed my account in march.2002.
the turnover in retail /customer service area is unreal, they think they can just hire anyone willing to sit in front of a phone and a pc and get the job done.

who is going to travel to santa clara for 55 dollars dispute,or even 550 dollars dispute??
with merchant account, when the card issuer rules against the merchant, most just eat the loss rather than appeal to higher court like visa or mc,the cost runs over 100,000.

Maybe Ebay will think twice about taking on PAYPONZI'S problems. Looks like this ruling will cost them millions.

ebay can afford millions, usually in an acquisition, such liabilities are taken into consideration and discounted.
name me one business which does not have lawsuits outstanding, also accounting rules of publicly traded company requires the co to recognise possible liabilities on their balace sheet under contingent liability.
in some cases,it will have to go further by actually setting aside fund for settlement.
if you get paypal annual report, you may find out what they have to say about lawsuits.
paypal was so anxious to gain memberships,so now it has to pay.

if you read your mc/visa agreement, you will notice that you have already agreed to arbitration.
so if paypal loses, what does it say about arbitration with payment services in general??
ebay knows all abou paypal pending lawsuits, ebay has a few of its own.

Yep your right Coonr but I'm not using PAYPONZI to do it.

Stopwhinning it could have severe repercussions on them and alot of other businesses. Don't know whether you've read this but it's part of a big push to get rid of arbitration http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nopal-paypal/files/Abitrationreportfinal.doc
California and Texas are just 2 of the states involved.

Stoney,

Most folks would not confess to a crime on a public chat board. Guess that says alot about morals and ethics.

Give us a break Coonr. Get a drink and go to the window. Now open it and test your PAYPONZI superhero suit out.
